Membro della Steering Committee UNEP-ABC e coordinatore dell'European Network of Excellence "Atmospheric Composition Change, the European Network", Sandro Fuzzi è il direttore delle ricerche dell'Istituto di Scienze dell'Atmosfera e del Clima (ISAC) del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), con sede a Bologna.
 

Un dottorato in Chimica fisica all'Università di Bologna nel 1974; è a capo del gruppo "Atmospheric Chemistry" ed è coordinatore del progetto "Global Change" del Dipartimento Terra e AMbiente del Cnr.
          
I pricipali interessi di ricerca sono i processi fisici e chimici nei sistemi atmosferici multifasici (aerosols e nubi) e i loro effetti sul cambiamento della composizione dell'aria; il clima, gli ecosistemi e la salute umana. Attualmente coordina l'European Network of Excellence "Atmospheric Composition Change, the European Network", che include 43 tra le maggiori istituzioni europee nel campo della ricerca sui cambiamenti globali.
